YANDINA - Yandina is a Sunshine Coast hinterland town on the Bruce Highway. Its current claim to fame is in being a ginger town. It is the home to the Buderim Ginger Factory. This is the famous 'Ginger Town' just up the road from Nambour, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, which boasts some of the most beautiful country in Queensland. Yandina lies just to the north of Nambour, the centrally-located retail and service town for the central Sunshine Coast hinterland which is so rich in natural rainforest parks and reserves. Native animals such as kangaroos, koalas and wombats, which can often be elusive in the wild, are on constant show. Yandina is home to the Ginger Factory, where you can sample all things Ginger and the award winning Spirit House restaurant. Yandina is approximately 8.5km north of Nambour. Perhaps the town's major attraction is the Mapleton Falls, which cascade into the Mary Valley from the western escarpment of the Blackall Range. GLASS HOUSE MOUNTAINS is also a hinterland town of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is located approximately 70km north of Brisbane, in the Caloundra City local government area . Known colloquially as "Glasshouse", it takes its name from the famous mountains and National Park of the area. The township of Beerwah is located in this region, a popular tourist destination, being home to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo. Mooloolah is only 10 minutes from the famous Australia Zoo. Aussie World and Ettamogah Pub are 7 minutes away. For the more adventurous Big Kart track, horse riding, golf and kayaking all within 5 - 10km.
