The hustle and bustle of an outdoor market brings the centre of Latrobe to life on Sundays, and market wares are supplemented by Latrobe's numerous antiques and craft shops. Bell's Parade, an attractive Mersey-side reserve is the venue for 'Henley on the Mersey', each Australia Day, a traditional family-oriented cultural festival. Bell's Parade is just one of the numerous platypus sites around Latrobe. Best viewing is at the Warrawee Forest Reserve.
Latrobe is a gourmet's delight and is home to one of Australia's highest rated restaurants. It is also a haven for chocoholics, who can spend the day indulging their passion within the Anvers chocolate factory from breakfast time through to late afternoon. Anvers is renowned for its range of premium chocolates, fudges and praline, and features a café, tastings and sales.
Latrobe offers full visitor facilities, with motel, hotel and charming B&B accommodation only 12km south east of Devonport.
